Tim McAvoy, B.A., R.I.B.

Tim McAvoy is the Principal for the firm, under the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario laws. Prior to founding the Consulting Group, he worked for 3 years with a major Canadian Insurer in the greater Toronto area then for 36 years as CEO for a full-service Insurance Broker in the region of Niagara.  Tim is dual licensed with both a RIBO and FSCO Life license. 

Tim is the Principal Consultant for many corporate clients and his commercial insurance specialties include International Manufacturers, Contractors, Surety and Fleet Risks, as well as the Public Sector and Group Home/Auto insurance.  He has extensive experience with all types of Employee Benefits plans and is comfortable dealing with both union and non-union clients. 

Tim has taught insurance classes at a local college and is a Past President of both the Pelham Business Association and the Niagara South Insurance Brokers Association.  He has served on the Advisory Councils for both a major Property & Casualty Insurer and a large Employee Benefits Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
